April meeting

The weather is mild and our members have been busy stitching. JS presented a program on Italian smocking. One of her examples was the beautiful flower girl dress created for her son's wedding. How elegant.

Thank you, JS for presenting this month's program.

RC who is always busy stitching, brought this adorable basic yoke to share. It is picture smocked with Little Memories "Bearing Gifts"

What little girl wouldn't delight in cute teddy bears peaking out of pretty wrapped presents.

No christening gowns for DB this month. She has been sewing for her neice instead. Cute pink fleece jacket with matching plaid pants.

The bearer of a christening gown this month was SC. A beautiful gown made from the mother's wedding dress. It takes real courage to cut up a wedding dress with the hope of having a christening gown to show for it.

A close up of the bodice featuring the beautiful embroidery featured on the gown.

SC's attention to detail is evident in the pearl buttons and fabric roses. Great job!

SC has also been smocking for her granddaughters. This cute gingham and floral CC Mindy is precious,

with a matching bishop for sister.

Those twin baby boys couldn't be left out, here two matching jon-jons fit for two little princes.

There is no meeting in May but we will gather together in June for our annual Salad Supper. This year's salad supper will be help poolside. Swimsuits "optional" thank goodness.
